Letrari Zero Dosage Talento Trentodoc Spumante
This spumante is exceptionally fresh and zesty. It is made with zero dosage, a finely textured perlage, the colour is a pale canary yellow. On the nose citrus zest, apple, and crusty fresh baked bread.
Almost creamy in texture, with firm acidity, one thinks of the flavors of toasty biscuits and yellow stone fruit . There’s a mineral vein throughout and good balance all in all. This spumante can be paired simply with aperitif gougères and parmigiano. It would be splendid also with raw fish and seafood anything;carpaccios, ceviche style entrèes, sushi and sashimi. It would accompany light summer fare well, fresh pasta sauces, and salad composèe like nicoise, ratatouilles, italian bellpeppers and such.
This Letrari Zero Dosage Trentodoc spumante is a beauty and it almost stole the show for me at the vertical tasting of spumantes I participated in at the Letrari stand at Vinitaly 2011. Simple and straight forward it’s still made with great care and shows the elegance of this small boutique winery of southern Trentino.
